How did you get started working for Mitchell?
I was fortunate enough to be on a softball team with Doug and Nate. While in college my part-time job was less than ideal and Doug gave me an opportunity to come aboard. I would drive out from Northern Illinois University 3 days a week and put vendor quotes into Quantum. I began to realize that this was a great company to work for and asked if they had a need for a full-time employee. I worked into the role of the support staff on the expendable side. After about 6 years of that I was given a chance to become a sales manager and still am today.
What’s the best part of your job?
I like the challenge of growing each of my accounts. While there are so many day to day activities; quoting, following-up on quotes and so on, your day is gone just that quickly. I try to make sure each part of my day is focused on finding different and unique ways to reach a customer and build a stronger relationship.
How do you strive to make an impact on the organization?
I try to be as open as possible here at Mitchell; not only with my customers but within the company as well. I have learned so much from my colleagues that I hope to add a new and different take on some of their approaches. I believe that we are all working for the common good and to not be open would detrimental to the organization.
What is your motivation to be a valuable team member?
My motivation is to prove my worth to Mitchell Aircraft. I was given a great opportunity at a young age and would hate to squander that. Being one of the younger employees in the office I hope to apply my critical thinking ability to help take Mitchell to the next level. I have been able to be a part of this company for 10 years and I hope that I can help bring growth for decades to come.
What do you enjoy most about the company culture?
I enjoy that Mitchell allows me the freedom to take the avenues to grow my business here. I can collaborate with my management team to devise smart, strategic business decisions that benefit Mitchell and our customers. It is nice to be heard rather than ignored when it comes to my ideas.
