NAME: Pete Davis
TITLE: Vice President of Sales
START DATE: Sept 1994
What passion led you to work in this industry for so long?
My dad was proud of his service in the Army Aircorps at the end of WW2. It always came up in conversation at the dinner table. In fact, he would drag my brothers and me away from the table to identify aircraft flying overhead.
I can still remember my first flight on a DC-6 from Cleveland to Detroit. The plane ride was exciting and I also got to see Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris’s Yankees play the Tigers.
My interest in flying continued and pushed me to obtain a pilot’s license in the early eighties. I thought it would be a kick to fly my sales territory rather than drive. Unfortunately, the companies in paper, packaging and chemicals didn’t think so.
What got you started in the aircraft business?
Through a friend, I was introduced to the aircraft parts business. And it has been a big part of my life for over thirty years.
What do you love about your job?
Selling aircraft parts has afforded me the opportunity to travel to six continents, meet really interesting people from many cultures and get a feel for doing business all over the globe.
What makes you so dedicated to your work?
I have always enjoyed selling and servicing customers. And I get to do it with products that can be incredibly technical and have to be tremendously reliable.
The old school thing works. Because I am old school.
